ose to a break-even with my at-home chain.) Smoother and yet more precise, very dynamic, bass significantly improved. As a show newbie, I forgot to ask if it was running with the stock tubes or something different. The volume control was continuous, so

e metal headphone stand or anything like that. Only wood stands.
7. Don't plug, unplug, plug, unplug, plug headphones alot.
8. Leave plug con

I’m surprised that the people who can afford this headphone still need to work at all.
2 things...

1 - I like working more than ever now that I don't have to.

2 - What's really crazy is that the average American is buying $47,000 cars and the average American family has several cars.

Think about that a bit.....The $47,000 car will be worth perhaps 20K in a few years (-$27,000 in depreciation for each car + loss of money in loan payments).

A 7K headphone seems like a bargain compared to what people lose in car depreciation and pay in interest payments.

Similar to others, my dealer informed me of new, significant delays this week and there isn't an estimated date at this point, just a reserved place in line. Again, if anyone is coming across pairs in hand at dealers (which seems to be the case in some places in Europe), then don't hesitate to pick one up. It's going to be a long wait outside of that or picking up used.

Another note regarding both X9K and Omega mesh drivers feature. I don't know if this is a common mesh feature ?, on upper bass/midrange depending how loud you play you almost feel (physical) air pressure against your skin/ears as if the the driver would vibrate and push air. This feature is exactly the same on Omega and X9K and this is unique because i haven't heard this effect with other phones.
@Nomax wrote it produces no air pressure. It's the same with CRBN you feel the bass pressure physically. When that's the case with X9000 it can be clear a winner!
Did you hear Metal with it? Tool, Fates Warning, Evergrey?
I ordered it but I'm a bit skeptical if it can sound amazing with metal. Will drive it with Carbon.

Yeah, I wouldn't bet on that. There isn't much to fault with this headphone, and it's going to take some serious R&D plus manufacturing chops to produce something which is clearly better. And it would likely cost more than the X9000.
Has there been a recent price increase from Stax on the X9000? Historically when demand exceeds supply, there is a price increase. Just check your local gas prices from this time last year. I actually got my X9000s at a 15% discount below MSRP and no shipping costs. It was just in time when I ordered the from LTA @ CAF 2021 last November.

As some here know I have a BHSE + SR-009s. Do you believe the sr-x9000 is a worthy upgrade to the Sr009, or is it just a different flavour, with the advantage depending on the type of music ?

It's for sure an upgrade technically. Improved soundstage width and depth wise, and a bit better separation overall. There's also improved weight to the sound. But I think if you love the 009 it will just depend, as they do have very different presentations. 009 is up in your face with detail, ultra speedy, with more air and maybe a bit more perceived clarity and more sparkle in the highs. Obviously there's tradeoffs between the two styles, but if you really love the 009's, you may miss it and may want to keep it around with the x9000.

Imo the improvements of the x9000 does make it a worthy upgrade overall. But if i didn't have the SGL, I would definitely be using the 009 more with it.
