Two final questions... are the L700 pads the same thickness (front and rear)? I would not want 'wedge-shaped' pads. Last question: Do the L700 pads snap on (like the L300 ones) or did you have to put them on with adhesive? thanks..
L700 pads are the same thickness front and back.
All L300/500/700 pads snap on to the headphone in the same way.

Yeah they use the same snapping in/out mounting system, so no funny business required to swap the L300/L500/L700 pads

The wedge shape is on the headphone itself, so all the pads L300/500/700 are of the same thickness front and back

Is the L700 earpad available for order? Still couldn't find it, any place that I can order? Thanks.
The easiest way - buy L700 like I did, you'll get a free headphone with your pads.

Cheaper way - you can message Mit (my Stax dealer/pusher) on Ebay, he'll be happy to provide you a quote for any item you want.
I bought almost my entire Stax inventory from him.

Wish it was that simple but the L700 sounds way too neutral for a lot of us. The L300 and L500 to a certain extend sounds a ton more fun and musical.

I don't think there is any way to buy L700 pads separately anywhere. The eBay guy won't have it. If I am incorrect, let me know.

Only way to do it is to purchase the L700...but that's a bit like buying a Mercedes so you can use the wheels on your Hyundai.

Mit can sell anything that's available in Japan.
