Has Stax found a new US distributor or is there still no one of record who is representing them here?

I am totally getting this. The KingSound is said to not be that well made and not totally safe.

Portable 'stat amp would be cool, but I'll always be paranoid about taking expensive and potentially fragile electrostatics places. Though maybe listening in a hotel room at night might be a good use for it.

Also, I want to see more warm-sounding electrostats. Moar brite != moar details, or moar better.

I did not want to start a new thread so I hope this question will fit in here. My question is whether there is still a place for the SR007 mk2 between the excellent SR L700 and the 009 that I now own. Has the SR007 current version continued to be modified to provide a certain niche in the line? I have never heard one but am curious as to whether I would find it different from the L700 and the 009, which I find to be similar through a BHSE.

I've never heard the L700, but if you find both the L700/009 similar through the BHSE, the 007Mkll is a very solid/authoritive performer, especially at mid-higher listening levels and compliments the signature of the 009. Two very different headphones too me.

Beyond the new flagship amp already released, I'm not expecting anything else.
FWIW, the Stax rep I met yesterday hinted at something this year for a 009 successor since this is the 80th anniversary year. Still not holding my breath but it's another data point.
