Hi all,
I recently got Stax RS-34 and tried to power it with my DIY 2A3 SET amplifier that puts out some 2.5-3 W into 8 Ohms. The sound was there but it was very low even with my volume control set to full output.
There can be two explanations to this:
either my amp isn`t enough to drive these electret speakers or their diaphragms are almost out of charge. I won these on ebay and couldn`t get any information on them from the owner. As they came in pretty bad shape I can easily imagine the diaphragms fading.
Anyway, I would really appreciate any experience input on powering similar electret speakers with low output tube amps.
