Not very familiar with headphone sound issues. Is this something that is DIY fixable?

I get the feeling that it needs to be diagnosed by a technician, but wanted to see if it may be an easy fix.

If not would a regular electronics repair store be able to fix it?

Have you tried other sources? Does the static change when you touch or move the plug on the source end or the headphone cup end?

The static is coming from the headphone, i have to wiggle the connection to the headphone to lose static. Also tried other cables and still got static.

Most likely a loose TS/TRS connection. The contacts inside the jack in the cup need to be pressed back into place so they make solid contact if accessible, or the jack should be replaced.
