So my first purchase that led me into "audiophilism" was the Shure se215. I loved them and loved the base heavy, but otherwise transparent, sound and clarity of the mids and highs. Now my question is what should I reach for next that is still an IEM (they tend to have more accurate, clearer and more controlled sound compared to headphones) and has relatively the same signature as the se215s but better?

In my search I have constantly stumbled into reviews of the Westone 4s, the se425s, se535s, seen IE80s, and a couple others. Are any of these or others that you guys know of a good upgrade? I have a budget of about $500 but I am also interested in good value for money.

Also, if there are any headphones that would be a good replacement for the se215s let me know. I am considering buying the ATH M50s... are these good?

:). There is actually a very good thread with tons of reviews in a wide aspect of price ranges.

The problem is to find a similar signature.
I haven't listened the GR07 BE but they are well praised around here.
The beloved TF10, you could get one new from this seller. One of the best signatures I ever heard. If you had troubles getting a good seal with the se215 or your ear canal is small forget about those.

Im really looking at the Westone UM PRO 30 but they are at the upper range of my price range and want to make sure i would like them. Ive heard a lot about the TF10s too. Are any of the higher end Shure models resemblant of the se215? I was considering the se425 but i have seen mixed reviews

I am in the same boat.  I have the 215's and like them.  I have spent some time with the 425's and 535's and can tell you that they are both excellent...slightly different, though.  I listen to classic rock, jazz, and alternative primarily.  The 425's are sweet with jazz and more detailed music.  The 535's might be a bit closer to what you are used to with the 215's...just clearer and more spacious.  One thing that most will agree on is that the Shure IEM's have a signature sound.  I happen to like it.  I have tried several of the Westone IEMS and they are also very good, but different from the Shures...less mid forward, perhaps.  So, my advice is if you like the sound of the 215's, upgrade within the Shure line...skipping the 315's (not enough improvement, if any)...and go for the 425's or 535's.  I am leaning toward the 425's.  If you want a different sound signature, try the Westones...the 4R is a good choice.
