i've got a automatic, but i'd rather have a stick. i'd love to trade in my a4 avant for a gti

I've learned on manual, which is the usual thing over here. And the manual 4 and 5 gear transmissions in my first two cars (BMW 520 & 525e) sure weren't bad ones - but then I bought an old Mercedes 250 with automatic and just loved it: Automatic is so damn convenient - especially in dense city traffic.
