Hi All
I am hoping anyone can help me.
Has anyone got a SRM-313 kicking about that they can plug into their SR-007 headphone, and see how it goes?
I know from members that the SRM-323s is fine with the SR-007s, and it has only a bit more power output (400v as apposed to 350v on the 313 unit).
I am tempted to buy a new or second hand SR-007 headphone, BUT I have the old SRM-313 amp, though it is fed
by a good signal Audio Note Tubes DAC and Pre Amp. I currently get lots of volume on my Lambda Nova Signatures
setting the Stax at full volume, and my Audio Note pre at 1/4 volume to get loud listening conditions.
I don't fully understand, but I have found I get much better sonics with the Stax energiser fed by a stronger pre amp out, than straight from a source. In that case the sound is thin / weak. My pre amp is a transformer coupled design, and can handle high impedance inputs, so I think it is driving the energiser inputs to the max effect.
Any insight would be great! It is impossible for me to hear before I buy at my location.
