i've been into audio world for 4, 5 years now but mostly headphones and iems. now i guess it's time to the speakers world. i mostly want them for movies. budget around 400 - 700. i'm thinking mostly cambridge 340c, dvd89 and 340r. what speakers is good for this? i'm thinking i'm only going to go 2.1. too much wire for a 5.1.

You should be able to find some Paradigm speakers used on the Bay or the Gon to fit your price range. New they are a great bang for the buck, used is even better.

True. Doesn't that model need a sub? I am so into getting a Maggie when the time is right.

av123 has the new ELT series. conventional speakers but made for easy install for HT. X-series is great too.
