Well I've splurged....I've got some higher run (30' cables in a high RF environment), so I have a higher gauge Amazon Basics insulated pure copper speaker cable for my 7.1.4 system. I really doubt my speakers or ears could pick up the minute difference in measurements

I have a friend who does live sound systems for venues ranging from clubs to small amphitheaters. He was doing a gig at an amphitheater about 80 miles out of town and realized his assistant hadn't put one run of speaker cable in the truck. It was a three hour drive back and forth to go fetch it and he had no time for that, so he handed the assistant a wad of cash and told him to go to the closest Home Depot and buy a whole roll of zip cord. He wired one channel with his pro cables and the other with jury rigged zip cord. No one at the show noticed anything. It sounded fine.
