Hi,I live in Orlando as well and have a few good set-ups:
My reference rig is a DIY "45" tube amp with a Foreplay pre driving a pair of stock RS-1's. (2FD4!!!)
In the same room is an ASL MG-Head driving a pair of Sennheiser HD600's.
And in the bedroom is a Headsave Ultra-Extreme (special design with dual volume pots and all upgrades, thanx Norm!) meta based amp driving a pair of CD3000's.
If anyone has a meet planned in the central Florida area I would be game! I also wouldn't mind a get together with individuals in the area, but I have yungin's and can't go too far.
...be up for a drive to Orlando. It seems the word "Orlando" is getting a lot of noise in this post, which would make one think it's the best place (I'm around 2 hrs away).
I'm a relative newbie, but am all in for the Forida crew. I'm in Sarasota - anywhere from Ft Meyers up to Tampa, and over to Orlando is in my range.
Have stuff I'd be happy to bring for a listen - hd 600's, Corda Prehead, couple of homebrewportable amps, a very nice home META42, Krell CD source, and some older preamps (Nak & Hafler) that make for pretty darn good headamps.
I'll be watching this space for any potential meets.
I'm all for a Orlando or Tampa Bay Area meet. Can anyone host it in those areas?
BTW, has anyone been over to Skycraft Parts and Surplus in Winter Park? They have a lot of new and used electronic parts, most of their RCA and 1/4" plugs are crap, but they carry Belden cable, and sell braided shielding dirt cheap.
I live in Pensacola FL, that's as far NW in Florida as you can go, wish headfi meetings could happen somewhat closer more frequently, there is a shortage of hifi events up/down here, and so many miles from here to central-south fl
We are finally finished selling & moving. I am up for a meet in Nov., early Dec. or after the holidays if that is better for all concearned. Let me know.
