FYI that audio research cd2 that i mentioned was compared to the M. L. 39 which is a $5000 cd player and the reviewer said they are about nearly the same - it is just a matter of preference.

BTW I keep getting the same type of seller on audiogon who just do not answer their email or they just sound like they are interested in selling their product but they never seem to follow through.

Plus, the Shanling can be upgraded at some point in the future if you choose to do so. The Arcam can not be upgraded to my knowledge, even by Arcam. I asked them about upgrading my 23 to a 23T and they said no.

Yes. There are a couple reviews at www.audioreview.com There are also a few members here that have the Shanling. You could ask them what they think or if they've had any problems.
