Hello.

Can anyone help me decide between these two headphones? I do not know what to choose, regarding that I do not find any reviews about CX870, Personally, I would prefer CX870, because i can buy them from my country and I have the warranty. The PL50 will be bought from Hong Kong and I cannot return them if are somehow broken. Or, if you know any good IEM ~70$, please tell me. I listen to all kinds of music, pop, dance, hip-hop and I want the headphones to be kinda bassy.

Thanks in advance.

L.E. I also found AKG K340 that are in this price range.

Hi, I don't know if I can help you... I bought PL50 last week for $39 shipped... and for this money they are gold!!! I don't know, for the first time in few years I wanted to listen to them on a bed & enjoy the sound. It has really forward mids (I kinda like it), treble is good (not punchy not shy), the bass is not overall strong & mind-blowing, but you can hear it & feel it for sure... I like this more than Jays s-Jays, they got too much bass & not detailed IMO. Even in dubstep tracks I can hear multiple basslines, but big Headphones like HD25 can play it more stronger. But these really little IEMs are really good even for $55 I would say. I've never heard CX870, so no clue here. Some like SoundMAGIC PL30 too... they have bigger soundstage & they are little more airy than their bigger sister PL50 (but overall PL50 are better), for $22 very good indeed. Then you should look for Hifiman RE0 here in threads... they are one of the best IEM under $150. Just for about $72 you get much music ;D But they don't have much bass too I'm afraid. Then you could look for Jays d-Jays or some they're mentioned in these threads....

The pl50 are not bassy. The bass extends relatively deep, but there's virtually no impact. The RE0 are also quite lacking in bass for that matter. Bassy headphones for that price...the panasonic hje900 can be had for $80 and are fairly bassy with very good overall sound quality. But if you want BIG sub-bass impact (with very reasonable overall sound quality) consider the hippo VB. Also sells for $80.
