I plan to get the DarkVoice 336i since I heard it works well with K 701, HD 650 and DT990 and I'm going to get one of these (going to try them on Saturday).
So what I wanted to know is if I could just use a cable or an adapter to get the 3,5mm out of my sound card or my Zen Vision:M to the dual RCA input in the DarkVoice.
I've been thinking about something like that:

Or do I really need a DAC?
I don't mind buying a DAC later on but right now I'm on quite a tight budget when I'm getting the phones and the amp so I would be happy if it worked right from the start until I saved up some more money to get a better sound card and DAC.

The cable you pictured certainly will work. You asked and answered there.

No, you don't *really* need a DAC, but it'll certainly improve things from a good soundcard. Get the Darkvoice now and the DAC later. Darkvoice is more versatile.

Cable looks like it will work fine.

If you are on a budget you do not need a dac. Most of the sound quality will come from:

1-Headphones
2-Amp
then source
