Probably because they wanted to compete with Apple as I heard they are coming up with something new this month and I am waiting for iOS7 I also miss the lyrics display in the music app before the iOS5 update hopefully they bring it back with this new iOS xD

I'll say there is a very good chance they are employing mechanical crossover again, as they did with the previous XBA series.

Yes i noticed that.... hence i said they are doing things a little differently than other hybrids. The crossover still will have to be well placed were they put the range of the dynamic driver etc. That is all i was getting at!

That's to control the air movement on the back of the diaphragm, which directly affects the bass response of the driver.
