Sony also released a cool QX smartphone add-on lens, that sounds like a gimmick, but I can see taking off. They really are on a roll.

Probably because they wanted to compete with Apple as I heard they are coming up with something new this month and I am waiting for iOS7 :D I also miss the lyrics display in the music app before the iOS5 update hopefully they bring it back with this new iOS xD

Therefore if they nail the crossovers it could be an EX1000 without the spikey treble.

Actually based on the fact that they have mentioned full range BA in all three models, as well as this picture in the press release:

I'll say there is a very good chance they are employing mechanical crossover again, as they did with the previous XBA series.

These definitely look & sound promising. Sony IEMs are a major reason of why I got into music(I enjoyed the EX210 waaayy too much) and I'm looking forward to these new flagships.

Yes i noticed that.... hence i said they are doing things a little differently than other hybrids. The crossover still will have to be well placed were they put the range of the dynamic driver etc. That is all i was getting at!

Very interested in seeing or, rather, hearing how these perform.
