I actually have westone w30 and yesterday I got the chance to try a demo unit of xba300 for a while. My initial impresion is xba 300 has deeper and bigger bass. The high is also more sparky but I found no sibilance. The mids of xba feels thicker. It seems to be more v-shaped than w30. I also feel it has better soundstage. Fitting wise, w30 is better. Xba 300 is protuding while w30 sits comfortly on your ear. However, it doesnt mean that xba 300 is not comfortable. In case of isolation, I think both are good. In summary, I think xba 300 sounds more fun but will be more fatiguing than w30. Personally I'll pick xba 300. Just my 2 cents.

They have it with additional cost to purchase their optional cable extra HKD 400, well worth the extra as the supplied cable is very thin, and the quality isn't very good.

Mine should be here tmr, that's if my friend did get me one direct from Japan, anyone who is after true audio sound quality, should consider getting the Japanese version rather than the international version.

How much these actually costed you?

I checked the price for A3 and A300 on Amazon Japan and these are priced at 31500 and 30000 yen respectively (I thought A300 would be costlier). Any idea about importing them to India?

My A3's costed me 294 USD incl shipping express to mexico

Just got delivery of my Japanese version XBA 300 from my friend.

My ideal combination.

How does it sound?

I am thinking about ordering XBA-300 to enjoy with my ZX2.

Need to give the headphone a burn in before I can really comment, but initial testing, alot of improvement over the xba 3 and xba 30.

If you have the intention to get one, go for the japanese one, unless you intend to put on a custom cable.

Japanese version does not have a in line mic and multi function button.

Notice the photo, the model number is XBA 300, international version is XBA 300AP.

why does the AP version having the control stuff necessarily have detrimental effects on sound quality? *just asking*

Just like many headphone companies, they make it compatible for smartphones, for sony ip is iphone, vp for android and ap for both.

I know it will affect the SQ, as I have tried other headphones from the XBA series with and without the in line mic, and the non mic version is slightly louder.
