Sony XB1000 or the Audio-Technica ATH-WS70?

Title pretty much explains itself. I know that at the CES 2011 show, Audio-Technica and Sony announced their new line of headphones and they should hopefully be released soon.

I have scorched the internet looking for info on the ATH-PRO700MK2 and WS70 models with little hits coming up. I think a member here started a thread about them last year, but nothing else has surfaced.

J&R has both ATH models up for pre-order, but nothing about the Sony.

So for those who are interested in bass comparable to the XB500 or HFI-580, which would you all go with?

I also noticed the ATH-PRO500BK, but once again couldn't find any solid info about them

I don't know about the Sony's but the WS70s are worse after burn-in, and are terrible for soundtrack/classical/jazz/acoustic genres. ATH-M50s are much better than the WS70s. On the plus side, they do look very nice and sound great for alternative/rock/electronica/etc genres albeit the limited soundstage. I too am looking forward to more info on the MK2s as apparently the driver was upgraded.

Still nothing about these cans yet. Hopefully something will be released about the PRO700MK2 and PRO500BK soon.

After finding out the "rumored" price of the XB1000, I might just have to resort to one of these

I do not like the WS70, it has a muddy sound and boomy bass that audiophiles tend to complain about. And I am a bass head. I also don't like the comfort, and don't like how it doesn't fold in to itself (can only fold flat). I actually prefer the K518 to the WS70.

I still want an XB1000... but it is kind of expensive apparently. I already have an XB700 but I still want to get the XB1000.
