I just tried it and flat is wayyy better than before, really less annoying bass for sure.
Can’t say I notice a difference in this update which all seems rather pointless really with no fixes for the main issues of the cold weather behaviour and awkward Bluetooth implementation.Benefits and improvements from the latest update
That's about all for this tiny update (2.8 to 3.3MB)
- Amazon Alexa is now supported
- Voice guidance language selection is now supported
So, just because the stock signature isn’t to your personal taste (although I think your own views changed on this over the course of the thread) it doesn’t mean Sony got it wrong. Far from it in fact - this is a mass market headphone with a mass market sound signature which average consumers (and reviewers by all accounts) seem to love. Given they way these headphones have been selling, Sony absolutely nailed it sound signature wise.IMHO No audio gear manufacturer would want to admit they got a sound signature wrong.
Me too, I like the sound signature with audiophile recordings. Not so with bass-head pop music.I really like the sound signature, I disagree a little with others, I do think it has a nice level of sub bass present and although it does have an exaggerated bass compared to most - I think it makes it a great musical headphone. I also don't think the mids and highs lack detail or are that recessed.
That's why I used the words "Reduced bass boost" not "Eliminate bass boost".Not sure if the update has changed the sound much, at a push maybe the bass has been tamed a little but I couldn't say 100% that this is the case.
As per usual with these threads, others will hear differently, just my own experience really.
