Yes, it works for me too.
Best effort is 660/606.The Bluetooth Codec app doesn't work on my Sony A306 and neither does developer settings. You can click on things but nothing actually changes. As a result, I seem to be only able to use LDAC Best Effort or LDAC 990/909. I can't figure out a way to set 660/606.
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. 990/909 just isn't stable enough unless I disable wifi.

Based on testing, only LG V30+ used 990kbps in Best Effort, everything else starts at 660/606 and can only go down from there.I thought best effort was adaptive:
"By default, LDAC audio bitrate settings are set to Best Effort, which switches between 330/660/990 kbps depending on connection strength."

Try with these options turned on:
Set Execution Delay to the default value, which should be 3.5 seconds or something. After enabling these, set your desired settings (sample rate, bits/sample), including the playback quality from within the app, then turn Bluetooth off and then on.
The options work if you have the premium version.
By the way, the app can also be bought outside of the Google Play store - just email the developer, his email is in the About menu.
Well, I appreciate the clarification, this does work. Still way too many taps (compared to the XM4) for my liking, but still less than what I thought it would be.He says that each consecutive tap to increase/decrease the volume.
So, in taps: 1-2-3-4 (volume up)-5 (volume up)-6 (volume up)-7 (volume up) and so on.
Basically 7 taps for +4 steps of volume, each tap after the third increases the volume by one step.
Did you set the Service option?Tried it. I get the pop-up message that codec has been changed but nothing is actually taking effect. It must be a Sony thing on the A306. As I have said the developer settings don't do anything either.

On my phone, the service always runs and shows the selected codec being used when device connected on top menu area (swipe down).
I might try it on my A307 to confirm I get same, just that I only use the A307 wired for its sound sig rather than the TWS DAC/amp sig.Yes, the service is running and the notification swipe down is present. I even get the message that the codec has changed. It's just unable to change the quality setting from what is set in the A306 bluetooth settings.
