Mine were bought the day they were released and have no battery imbalance after 1 1/2 years and still give 9-10 hours with anc and eq enabled and dsee disabled playing aac
Glad it's not all the older models . I turned off all the settings that drained the right bud as I wanted them to be more balanced for battery life and mine are within a couple percent the same now.

Using mine with DSEE on and LDAC, and the buds are always within 3% max (and not draining like crazy), sometimes it's the right that's lower, sometimes it's the left.

Same usage scenario and similar drain prior to last week on mine too, although in my case the right one was always the one that drains faster. It's been like that for well over an year and a half at this point and just now out of nowhere this happens.
I found WF-1000XM4 sounds better with WM1Z than iPhone, even just playing FLAC 16,44.1, I guess it is because WM1Z does support LDAC. Is there any difference in sound quality among WM1Z, WM1A and ZX300 as a source for WF-1000XM4? I would like to buy a lighter DAP to go outside with WF-1000XM4 but still like to have better sound quality.

I have not tested extensively, but to me there don’t seem to be any difference over BT from 1Z, ZX300 or A55 and they all sound better than from my iPhone if in a quiet environment, in mixed ambient transport noise I can’t really detect much difference

Man it sucked having the battery drain problem. Thankfully customer service sent a replacement outside of warranty, which was not what they were doing the last time I contacted them. I will say though, it might just be me but the transparency mode sounds a little worse than what I remembered. Sounds a fair bit more metallic now.

Oh I know that feel. I bought my pair about a week into its initial release, and after a year of no issues suddenly my right bud would be able to get 30 minutes at best before I received my replacement pair. Have no clue how their software could mess things up that much where it became such a widespread issue.
Wonder what causes the drain problem because its not like a gradual thing, 1 day there fine and the next there not?... Ive had mine for just over a year and the battery life is still as good as when they were new.
Something is really wrong lately...just used mine from full to flat in less than 2 hours (Left side). Heard it turn "off"....But I accidentally touched the sensor and it turned my Ambient Sound On/Off So it wasn't really drained of any power since I can still enable disable Ambient Sound Control - but the firmware/software is misreading the battery levels
