I am so uninformed lmao I just found out there is a Pha 2a but its not sodl in usa land only asia, thought folks seems to like pha3 sq wise better. What I just also learned is that pha3 uses ess 9018S ! it is the same dac as in hdv820. Very interesting again hmmm.

I wonder if Music Sanctuary can to K mod on this thing too haha

grabbed the PHA-3 a week ago. A little concerned with the heat. Although it's mentioned on the back though as a declaration from Sony. But when I sandwich with WM1Z or ZX300, they are Absorbing the heat too. I noticed navigations went little slower response to <1 seconds. Should I be concerned if this heat can damage my 1Z or ZX300? As per Sony's declaration - PHA-3 has proper ventilation though. But before ZX2+PHA-3 were commonly sandwiched like this right ?

I have answered this many times....and I will take the PHA3 for sure! I drive the HD800 beautifully where the 1Z can’t. Similar improvements can be heard on the IER-Z1R as well. The pha3 is highly underrated. Use a usb good quality cable with it for best sound quality.

Absolutely agreed ! 5th day with PHA3 - And I am liking the PHA-3 more than WM1Z - sound difference is so high scaled ! I am using Sony's stock micro USB (the one with one pin on the left) to Walkman cable. Using Wakman just as a digital output - just pha-3's sound - simply just touchy and pleasing

well I dont know, I even preferred my wm1z over dmp, so if someone saying that pha3 is so so much better then wm1z hmm that is huge statement lol yes with headphones but what about iems?

and what does it sounds like that pha3?
I love 1z thickness bass and warmth.
Wonder if pha3 sound similar to wa11 and hdv820 since they all share same dac....

However, let your ears guide you, I don’t want to see you seeking for the same wife as Purk, because she is taken

I am about to buy one second hand for 425 usd, I really want to try it see how it goes. I like the 9018m ess dac aswell its same one as in hdv820 I keep talking about that one he....

HDV820 is a desktop full-size intergrated. You just simply can not compare a V4 vs V8 engines, when everything is optimized equally.

It would be nice to compare Pha3 VS WM1Z and the batter get closer. But as I said, WM1Z is a DAP and Pha-3 is a portable dedicated standalone DAC/Amp. They are dedicated for different purposes

I bought the pha3 second hand.
Will see how it compares vs my 1z!

Being a streamer most of the time. I think pha-3 + zx-507 would make more sense in my case. And more power also from pha3 but will it sound better then my wm1z ) so curious.
So far nothing touched my wm1z sound quality.
And pha3 is sony also using same components except the dac... hmm hmm soon il find out.

At first il try pha3 from s9 and laptop.


I know zx-507 dont sound as good as 1a or 1z I heard it at canjam

By the way I saw moon audio offer otg cables in 90° variants as well usb c to micro usb. They have a lot of options from silver cables to copper and more

Yeah, I recommend Moon Audio. But USB-C OTG is different than regular USB C cables. It gets tricky. Anyways, eventually you will get to that

Hey do you know if pha3 treble is same or lower then wm1z?

I know wm1z has a slight treble boost as with bass too.
Curious to know what are your testaments on this take?
