salanos. f806 usd195 exclude postage. if have more ppl want 64gb i can try to get again in bulk.
Could you quote how much it'd be inclusive of postage? Because $195 USD is a whole S$100 cheaper than my promotion-priced black F806 cost, but shipping can easily go to as much as 200.

shipping cost really depends if you insure it to the full value of the WM-F... my considerable experience with buying WM-Z's from Japan is as follows... use DHL or Fedex, make sure it's tracked delivery, ask the seller to state a value of $50 for customs purposes... your shipping cost plus customs should amount to between $60-75.

if you insure the WM-F for full amount, your shipping & customs cost will be a lot more... in UK the cost would be: customs-charge,  plus VAT@20% , shippers handling charge (plus VAT), plus the addition of extra shipping cost due to the insured-value... this would also be cost to any country in the European-Union.

hope that all makes sense.

using national ems, insured usd300 will just cost me extra like usd1. i always post goods to japan vice versa. average ems charges range from usd25-45 for small parcel.

Just 1 unit declare as a gift will do.

shipping out from japan?

yes Alex... last seller I purchased/bought a WM-Z from said he'd shipped it from Japan via EMS & sent me the tracking-number (I warned him not to beforehand)... EMS sent it back to him stating that they would not ship because of battery.

also, if you insure it for $300 and mark it as 'gift' you will be charged 'customs & VAT' on the insured value... hence why to insure value at $30-$50 as it does not get hit for Customs as you are allowed items under £30 (GBP) which are exempt of any charges.... the buyer must take the risk and agree it/this with seller, that way seller does not lose out if things go pear-shaped.

Yeah, it is crazy.  Japan post will refuse to ship anything with li-ion in it.  Not sure if this policy is applied to others battery type or not.

The EMS policy with lithium ion batteries has been in place for awhile.

Well, I just RMA'd my unit.  Worked fine except for the (critical to me) too low level line output, which is insufficient to drive my car stereo aux in without maxing the kenwood's volume control..............too bad, I liked this unit and will have to (temporarily, I hope) go back to my ipod touch in the car.

Time to un-subscribe.
Bye.

I'm trying to think what benefit you brought to the thread apart from going on about the Sony RMA and your surmised better functioning iPod... did you think to use blue-tooth in your car with your Kenwood?... did you happen to send your WM-F back because of your insurmountable disappointment?... out of pure interest like.

Just ordered the blue 64GB NW-F807 with the Disney engraving from Japan (http://pur.store.sony.jp/Qnavi/Purchase/NW-F807_DIS/) along with the CKH-NWF800 (http://pur.store.sony.jp/Qnavi/Product/CKH-NWF800/) case and the WMP-NWM10 power thing (http://pur.store.sony.jp/Qnavi/Product/WMP-NWM10/) so I can use a miniUSB charger (i.e. the one for my phone). Should hopefully be here soon. I was psyched that Sony in Japan finally did this (character engraving) for the top level Walkman. They usually only do it on lower models like the S and have for years.
