It's an MTP device, so I do not think it will work outside of XP/Vista.

I think other posters in this forum have said that it becomes UMS on a non-XP/Vista box, but I have not tried it myself.

I've actually searched and read all the threads about A818, and indeed I never got a positive statement confirming it.

What's meant by UMS?

USB Mass Storage device spec. It's the generic device type that becomes a new drive letter. Most thumb drives work this way.

Yes on a mac it's UMS, on a pc MTP. Works flawless om my mac book.

i turned AVLS off, but volume from level 25 to 30 sounds exactly the same : |

Interesting. Mine does change all the way up to 30, but I will say that the last 5 notches are smaller increases than at other places along the range. I had to take my IEMs out and just let them dangle outside my ears to go above 22, as it was just too loud with them in.
