unfortunately , i find ZX700 series the ugliest walkman ever ... may be it looks better in person but in comparison to the rest of ZX , A and even the old X series there is no contest

I'm tempted to get a 1AM2 or 707 (uncapped) but have read once or twice there's little improvement over the original. The 707 design doesn't really grab me like the other players, that's one thing the 507 had over others imo - the form factor, the size was just right.

I also loved the design/size of the ZX507 and think the 707 has gone too close size wise to the 1AM2.

I have a Japanese A307 on its way instead to compliment my 1AM2 as I'm fine with just 3.5mm SE output.

Yes it looks good and hopefully will be a big upgrade to the A105. I much prefer smaller players to the behemoths that cost $$$ but then again I only use iem's so don't need lots of power.

Funny. Completely opposite with me I had few As, never had the zx100, zx300 is resting in the dock with cmtsx7 (was great) and over zx507 it is way better. I am enjoying it, as of sound, os, battery and its design - way better.
EDIT: For my other comparison, I didnt compare the display specs, but to my eyes - ZX707 has a much better screen then 1AM2.

Really happy for you .. wish if i could enjoy its design too but it is a matter of personal taste after all .. and i have no doubt that it is the best ZX in terms of technicalities !

Its got to be, my WM1AM2 is slooooooow compared to any modern Android phone.

Completely agree!! Any normal, sane person would not put up with it for the circa £1k price tag.

Got to be the snapdragon cpu rather than Android 12 giving the improvement.

Oh indeed, thats why I bought a WM1AM2 I meant the general public who don't care about SQ .. am very much intrigued by the ZX707 though.

Need new cans, B&O H95 are active only and limits the volume somehow. I'll try via USB later.

Also want some new IEMs, any recommendation on IEMs up to $400? I was looking at Fiio FA9 or something Sony..

Sony stuff always pairs very well is my experience.

When I had my 1Z in the past I greatly enjoyed them with both the EX1000 and XBA N3, which I plan to use the ZX707 with. Also will use a Sony balanced cable with them.

General public (and odd reviewers) think DAP's are dead or should be! We all have a mobile phone

Fiio single Beryllium dynamic driver FD7 (or FDX if like Gold). I prefer even to my Sony M9's with some tracks or if mood takes me.

Some say the test graphs shows weakness in the highs but I don't notice but at 55 some of my upper range will have gone.

Am I reading this right? Sony put a volume cap on the US 707? Also it's not even close to the same size as the old series.
