Crazy, and it says it can't ship to any address I tried ...
It was actually £8.28 with p&p

I know cases have been done and I've had the official leather case and glass screen protector from new but just tried a Benks for £8 and for a plastic case its great quality and far more practical. No issue with screen protector I have on either.

Will be sticking with this and my vevet pouch for a while

Same happened to me. I enjoyed being able to feel the machined metal of the DAP with the Sony case cutouts. However, I also use the BA300S with it sometimes and having the case folded open and then the amp banded to it, was a bit much. The Benks case is really nice feeling rubber, and I can still use the buttons without looking. I've been using the Benks exclusively for about a month now.

I have the dignis and the benks case. I actually prefer the benks case more.

since covid pandemic, I've mostly worked from home and have been caseless which is the best.

Can someone please sell me on this over the SR25? I’m planning on using with my Solaris 2020.

I’ve owned the SR25 in the past. The sound was pretty good-WiFi was iffy. I would stream and there would be buffering sometimes.

How is the WiFi connectivity on this DAP? I’ve also read about some recent firmware updates that have made it even better.

Thanks guys!

Have you read the last 3 pages or so of this thread. I believe this was just covered.

Sounds like you are still not convinced with everything that has already been said. You need to do a better job of convincing yourself.
I believe conviction comes from internal, and not external. As you are still unsure, the only way is to try and compare for yourself.
And the result could go either way. You may like it, or not like it, no matter what other people's opinions are.

To me the ZX507 has more* than 4 notable sound processing baked into one walkman:

1) Direct Source On, Hi-res Streaming Mode Off
Natural Stereo sound with little sound processing

2) DSEE Ultimate On, Hi-res Streaming Mode Off
Stereo Sound with more significant Sony sound enhancement

3) Direct Source On, Hi-res Streaming Mode On
3D sound with little sound processing

4) DSEE Ultimate On, Hi-res Streaming Mode On
3D sound with full on Sony sound enchancement

All these 4 modes have different flavours to the sound. And I find that these are the four modes that I would listen to depending on my mood and the music source.

*This is before using Vinyl Processor DSP which adds it's own character to the sound.

I really do appreciate everyone subjective opinion on what all the processing does but I wish Sony had a definitive guide on what it actually does to the sound. I understand it's highly technical but even a simplified version would suffice. One has to search through hundreds of pages on this forum and dig deep to really understand and even then it's not really objective. At the end of the day what matters most is how you hear it and that's evident, half of what gets posted here is what people *think* the processing does to the sound. I find other companies much more transparent in terms of technologies implemented in their devices. I find all the processing options welcome - amazing to have so much flexibility but it's also very confusing and it seems it gets even more so with every significant update.

hard decision...wm1a is nearly the same price as 507 . wm1a or 507? In terms of SQ is Wm1a mile ahead of 507?

Not miles, just take the one you prefer.
Zx507 best for streaming
