Give at some time, blimey!

Give it a few weeks, blimey!
Your brain is burnt in to the r3. It's hearing what it's expecting. It took quite some time to get used to the Sony. As they don't use off the shelf chipsets I found it's unique sounding. The tone took time but it's bliss.

I have both, not returning either. I like both but even after only a couple of hours my preference is going to the less bright Sony. Don't be so defensive.

I need to get 200hrs on it anyway! My brain isn't "Burn't in". I've only had the Hiby a week and still listen mostly to my BTR5 for last few week.

Oh I didn't mean to sound fractious. Text talk does that.

507 and Amazon Music HD (recent update)

With the high res streaming option selected it seems to working well. But there is a warning that it might use more battery.

I am downloading all my favourites to have offline. I wonder if the hi res streaming on / off effects the resolution of the download files?

When Playing offline line downloads, I can disable wifi and Bluetooth. This really helps battery life. I wonder if switching off the hi res streaming will also improve battery life?

I may also try signing out of Google but worry the whole device will stop working!

You have to enable hi-res streaming inorder for any Android app to upsample to 32bit 192khz. Otherwise it will be fixed 16bit 48Khz Resampling.

According to Sony, high res streaming mode battery life impact is 20% additional.

Does it take adroids capped 44.1k 16bit audio and up samples it?

Or

does it accept the streaming apps file at its hi res rate (Let's say 96k 24 bit) then up samples it?

Basically ALL Android app playback at any bit rate or sampling rate will be routed and upsample to 32bit 192KHz.

The Only exception is the walkman music app which is Bit Perfect/Native resolution/no upsampling(with DSEE HX off)

Been comparing a single James Taylor track in Walkman player and in Tidal in standard & upscalled back and forth.

All sound great but with my K10U/Litz silver balanced cable I can hear that MQA bitperfect/MQA perfect does sound best in the Walkman app, and then there is a slight drop with Tidal App at 32/192 which is a noticeable improvement over 16/48.

So for me there is a slight drop compared to the Walkman app but not sure if down to App itself or due to Walkman app doing bitperfect.

A slight veil, lack of clarity with Tidal app compared to Walkman app with same track.

Bringing in the Hiby R3 Pro doing its full MQA my view is:

ZX507 =* R3Pro > ZX507 32/192 > ZX507 16/48

Both Hiby's player on R3Pro and the Walkman app on ZX507 look to be doing full MQA rendering as both show track at 24/192 and Hiby even shows its MQA Studio quality.

* Different signature and both excellent.

I've also now listened over 3.5mm and based on memory to the A105 I say its better on the ZX507. Can't understand why some reviews say 3.5mm is average. Not to my ears.

Congratulations. How much did you end up paying? Any local taxes?
