Up to now I still haven't heard the sound quality yet, over a week ago, Sony store Hong Kong say it will cost around 9500HKD, just yesterday they quoted me a price between 8500HKD to 9500HKD, I should see in less than a week when they will officially release the ZX2, I will compare the price of the dac in hongkong and japan(international version)if it's available, and if they price is only minor, I will probably get it from Hong Kong.

Preordered from Sony.ca for $1,344.44 after tax. Definitely the most luxury purchase I have ever made but I am tired of not having spotify on my A17 (Which I still love) and recording spotify albums to my pc (real time) and then transferring them over to the a17. Way too much extra work. I hope this zx2 is going to be worth it. While there are cheaper options, I am spoiled by Sony's amazing battery life and cannot go back to a measly 7 hour player (using otg) like Fiio x7 that still costs $800. For me its worth the extra money for the long battery life and 128 onboard plus sd memory.

I was interested in the echobox player but can't wait until end of the year when it finally comes out.

Well congratulations on your new purchase!  Man, I keep going back and forward with this do I get it or do I wait until my trip in July?  When you do get it could you let us know how it sounds?  I might just sell some of my other walkmen like my F886 and my a17 and some other stuff and just dump it all towards the zx2.  The ZX2 if it does have the sound, could be my last mp3 player purchase.  The thing that is killing me right now is that my f886 battery is really bad, but I bought it in Japan with friends so it has some sentimental value to me and I really like it as well lol!

Purchase on cc was so high it was initially rejected by my bank as security flags went up. I had to call Sony and then the bank to figure out the problem. Once I told them it was a Sony product, they understood.

No review will be necessary. As I have spent $1344, you can rest assured it will be the best player ever, and my ears will melt with rock and roll. Everyone attaches a value according to price, and their excitement with a new toy,, so I am not going to be an objective reviewer. Too much investment involved for it to be anything but mind blowing.

If it sounds better than my a17 (and I expect it should be noticeable), great, if it plays spotify and sounds as good as spotify off my home receiver, even better. I run spotify off my iPad now and it is nowhere near as good as direct from a top grade streaming receiver.

I'm not in a rush either, the ZX2 is released sometime this week in Hong Kong, and I will be in Japan in June, I will be getting it for sure, it's either Hong Kong or Japan.
 
and I'm sure Hong kong will have a special promotion, either with discounted accessories, or free downloadable high res music.
Right now I'm trying to build up my flac collect, I've only got one album from from MQS atm.

Thanks for the information, If I buy, it will be during my trip to Japan in June, I will also get it tax free as a tourist which should be about 110.289.6.

Actually keep an eye on both 森天地 and 麗晶公司 since they're always selling official Sony products with full warranty @ much better prices than others.
 
By the end of May, it's gonna be fantastic because price drops are so quick for portable gears these days. Unless you're visiting Japan on a regular basis, local warranty could be an advantage when we still don't know how robust ZX2 would be yet.

I'm really psyched about the micro SD card slot now. I simply pulled my card from the DX90 when I sold it, and have it ready to go for the ZX2. Could never do that previously with a Sony DAP. They finally listened.

Awesome, they don't sell the BCR-NWH10 cradle locally and that's why I'd like to pay you to get that in Japan for me.
 
ZX1 was like $5,680 from the get-go and now it's $4,550 in Mong Kok
