Big question: Will this work with PHA2 & 3.
 
Thinking this Sony own UI (last one being the mighty X Walkman), I am concerned. If so wish I could find the file needed to synergize Z & X walkmans with pha amps.

I would be flabbergasted if this device did not work with their PHA amps.  It's just a few scripts of code which would allow any ZX100 owner the ability to cough up a few hundred more $$$ on another device.  It's an easy cross-sell for Sony.

if the A17 works with PHA-3 and perhaps 2 why not the zx100 would? Same WM-port

The last one with Sony UI is the nw-a17. The a17 works with the pha-3. The one before the a17 is the a86x series and it does not work with the pha2&3.

True, but I took X Walkman as an example of it not working with the same wm-port.

I should have been clearer.
 
PHA-1A was marketed along with A17 walkman, so it was understood that it should work with the other pha models at least.
 
As there is no newer pha model released (nothing yet and hopefully no more) and no hint of it being able to be paired with these amplifiers, it was just a concern thinking about the X.
 
Hope they don't mess with us.

Yep.. the sony A17 is a fantastic player i was listening to it last night with my beyerdynamic T51P its a fantastic combination, i might hold my purchase of the zx100 and probably get the OPPO HA-2 instead and wait 6 months and pick up the sony..

Completed the payment. That's a nice price compared to what Ebay offers these days. My Aiwa Hp-V99 is going to arrive soon, I think they will form a nice alliance.
