what you mean by double ground?

The ZX2 has a 3.5 TRRS. That socket has the ground split for the right and left channel. You end up with a little better sound. Sony never really advertised this for some reason but it does work. They are odd about designing certain features and then letting them fall by the side, even though they work.

If sound is on par with the ZX2, I am interested. Nice to see that 128GB is now standard for hi-res portable player (and the SD card slot). Any less than that is just not enough.

or at least on par with ZX1... yes agree with the 128GB for flac files

double hybris there , both for the people who paid way more for the zx2 as well from your side for being just 'interested'

you sir , don't deserve to get a 1200$ sound in a 700$ price

btw , you can get a used zx2 for the zx100 price IF you are lucky and fast on the trigger in here

cheers

I confirm the €699 price for Europe. No double ground

If sound is on par with the ZX2, I am interested.

is the output stronger than zx2

From the price ($700) and name (ZX100) it essentially confirms it is a replacement to ZX1. So we can expect it to sound better than ZX1, but still not on ZX2 level which packs several techs that ZX100 doesn't. The ZX100 is still mid tier like ZX1, but refined and improved over ZX1 at the same price, which is a win win for us.

The ZX100 power output is 15mW+15mW, which is the same as ZX1 and ZX2. The lower models like A17, A20 and F887 only have 10mW+10mW power output.

The ZX100 also carries the signature ass hump that the ZX1 and ZX2 have, and packs os-cons in similar setup to ZX1.

^ Imo the ZX100 will be tuned similar to ZX2 (and A17), while the ZX1 is leaner and brighter, but works just as much magic with the right pairing, though the ZX100 will likely be the more versatile sound.

Simply put, imo the ZX100 is a little brother to ZX2, rather than a big brother to ZX1.

If you want the best then go ZX2, if you want to save $500 and get a smaller, lighter dap, then get ZX100.

Yup, zx2 is way out of budget :p, so "to start" get zx100, i already own A17 so i may already somehow anticipate how it will sound (but better of course)
