I gotta agree with this. Just as long as I used my 2 full sizes, Z1R and 800S, especially the 800S, I will need 320MaxAfter months of owning both WM1ZM2 and 320Max, I have come to the conclusion that as long as the Walkman has enough power to drive the headphones, it most definitely sounds better to my ears.
The Liric sounds bland on the 320Max but deep and impactful with the Walkman. I also enjoy all of my IEMs more with the Walkman. Prob only my HD800s makes me go back to the 320Max. Might be time to get hold of the Diana MR
Still intending to keep the 320Max for times when I crave more power. Otherwise, the Walkman remains the most “musical” player I’ve ever heard.
I had the sp2000cu and is awsome but now i have the Sony and is for my taste better than the AkSony WM1ZM2 or AK SP2000?
Woaaa, how did you get such discountI was going to wait for a year or more...today B&H sent me an offer I could not refuse of $400 off - the price of a 707 practically!
Trigger pulled.
Sad to enter Android Territory, but I couldn't help it...
I wish they did the same specials with Leica gearToday they told me in an email I had one day to get it at a special price.
If only I waited a few days... I paid $30 less for a unit with aproximately 500 hours playing time. Only bonus is I am getting a case, I might have to return the one I bought last week. smhIt's listed on Amazon for the same price.
I have an (NZ Made Antipodes Oladra music server, and the case is milled from a billet block of Aluminium with special isolation feet and weighs about 25kg. Certainly sounds great! Would be interesting to take the ‘guts‘ out of the solid case to see how much that makes a difference to the sound, Antipodes themselves certainly think it makes a significant difference.@andrewski
If you are interested in building a dedicated audiophile PC for audio ripping/playback, here's something interesting from Sony's mad audio engineer, according to him, the chassis contruction and material of the PC matters for sound quality too!(yup, shocking right?):

Maybe the Aluminium chassis on the WM1AM2 helps to produce clean sound too.
I ordered an AM2 but had a chance to listen to the ZM2 at the Melbourne hifi show 2 weeks ago. Only took me a few mins to hear that the ZM2 is a very special piece of kit and worth the money over the AM2 to my ears. I suspect the enhanced digital ground of the copper chassis really is a significant piece of the puzzleAfter listening to many hours of ZM2, I do wish I bought that instead of AM2. I can't justify selling the AM2 at a loss, so I just wait for the next Sony flagship.
AM2 offer the sound and DSP effect that if anyone else was to offer, they would have asked for at least double what it is selling.
How much is it?
Finally pulled the trigger! Such a good deal and impossible to pass up! Any other got lucky from Sony Singapore anniversary sale?
