The m17 is everything but harsh...
Well, hearing is subjective. People also use different headphones/IEMs, etc., so you can't really tell him that M17 is not harsh, as you can't experience what he does

Yes everithing in this hobby is subjective, from your music taste your good or bad taste of what you realize of what is good or bad sound reproduction, from what you heard in your home system, from what you ear in retail stores and exhibitions, if your ear is educated or not, and yes your headphones and Iems, só I can't and no one can tell, about m17 or about anything, so this forum is useless, don't you think?Well, hearing is subjective. Yeah and could've been phones / IEMs I used but to me, it was harsh no matter what and was a bit muffled-like. I did not like how the cymbals echoed, it wasn't natural and felt forcedWell, hearing is subjective. The key is to find somebody who feels similarly to you with gear you have heard as there is then a fair chance that when they describe their impressions of something new you might feel the same. That’s how I’ve bought a lot of my gear over the years as not very much is available for demo in DenmarkYes everithing in this hobby is subjective, from your music taste your good or bad taste of what you realize of what is good or bad sound reproduction, from what you heard in your home system, from what you ear in retail stores and exhibitions, if your ear is educated or not, and yes your headphones and Iems, só I can't and no one can tell, about m17 or about anything, so this forum is useless, don't you think?
Yes I agree with that, but in this forum is a bit hard, because people who likes warm and musical sound, them when something new appears with diferent sound carácter that taste change and it is strange.... It seems that what's good is what's new, of course that are many sponsored opinions so they have to do they're "job" for discount....and that is a very wrong thing because they are using a free platform for they profit, other thing is the demo chance here in Portugal, is 0, you want to demo?buy it.... No discount....The key is to find somebody who feels similarly to you with gear you have heard as there is then a fair chance that when they describe their impressions of something new you might feel the same. Majority of the world doesn't have demos I think. At least in USA, most items can be returned if you don't like, no questions askedYes I agree with that, but in this forum is a bit hard, because people who likes warm and musical sound, them when something new appears with diferent sound carácter that taste change and it is strange.... Online purchases in Denmark can by law be returned within 14 days unless it is bespoke items but most of this stuff is not even for sale in Denmark so you then have to deal with international sales and often even outside EU which adds extra challenges and expensesMajority of the world doesn't have demos I think. Hey! Are you running your WM1Z with 3.02 stock? Or perhaps one of Mr. Walkman's firmwares? As a basshead.. I tested the 1AM2 with Can U Kick It - Starsplash. Using it with IER-M9 and Kimber, the 1AM2 sits way above NWZX507. But, for me it can't outbeat the WM1Z, sort of I can't explain why The M9 with Kimber is sounding so rich and wide as its supposed to sound and so bass-brutal with WM1Z. I like the M9 much more then the IER-Z1R. The IER-Z1R is just bass porn with no feelings
The size and weight of the new 1AM2 feels just like paper compared to the old good gold brick
As I understand it, it is the sane soc as 507https://twitter.com/Hayaponlog/status/1509853701510676481
Does this mean that the new Walkman is running a new SOC with better gpu vs the zx507?

Yes thats the gpu which seems to be 2 variants of the same (Vivante GC7000) but what is the M2 cpu (ARM Cortex-A53 in 507) ?This is the new Walkman gpu:
This is ZX507 GPU:
