Hello there,

All my music is already packed and ripped according to music scene standards. I just wanted to know how is possible to add a cover art to folders...

i tried the folder.jpeg and it didn't work... and i rather not use mediaGo, if possible. Thanks in advance.

The MediaGo does have the advantage that allows you to change the same field on a bunch of tracks at the same time. Useful for updating the Album/artist info on all track at the same time.

You mean like every other MP3/AAC/etc. tagging software?

Translation, you've downloaded all your music...

It only reads embedded art in the files and it can't read progressive JPEG.  It's unfortunate because the high resolution of the screen can show extra detail of higher resolution art and sticking a 100+kB image in every track drives up the file size by an appreciable amount when dealing with compressed tracks.  Putting a single high resolution image in the folder would not waste so much disk space.  I've stuck with embedding 240x240 JPEGs in my files even though 480x480 art looks better on the screen.

3 rather trivial cosmetic aspects of the A30 series that I would like to see fixed / changed in the next firmware release:

  1. Apart from in the Unit Information, the display of list totals seem to be maxing out at 4 digits (<= 9999). This is evident in All Songs as well as in SensMe - Shuffle All Songs (if your totals are >= 10000)
  2. When playing a SensMe channel, no cover art of the current song is shown. Even the A10 series could manage this on a much smaller display. For all I care, the SensMe channel graphic could be sacrificed to make room for it.
  3. It's nice to be able to 'configure' the main menu to your liking. It would be even nicer if this ability would include the Radio and Learning icons.

Has anybody here ever tried to communicate improvement requests to Sony? If so, how?

My $0,03.

Cheers,
Jay

OK. Running LDAC is a power drain for sure, Did about 4 hours of Hi Res over LDAC and the unit is at 50% battery already. But then again the MUC-M2BT1 only lasted about 1 hours on FLAC plus 4 hours of Hi Res before it gave a battery low warning so I'll run out of battery on that long before I run out on the A35.

BT + LDAC doesn't seem to hit the battery like that for me, but I'm playing AAC not hi-res.

I wish the battery meter is in vertical bars, the slash bar is confusing. I was basically 2 bar down so I assume it's 50%. In the manual, it did say that LDAC playback is about 13 hours. Close enough I guess. I bought some 24/48 and 24/96 albums (from studio master) to use with my Teac HA-P50 so I've been testing those on the A35. I'm going to buy a couple DSD albums and see how it affect the battery on the A35, those are suppose to be most power demanding according to the manual.

anybody knows what dac is in a35 model? does it natively supports 24/192 flacs?

I think is same DAC as ZX100, it does support native 24/192 FLAC and 32-bit/384 in WAV/AIFF, WM1A/Z have flac 24/384
