SONY NW-A20 SERIES

I hope they made some significant improvement to its sound, because otherwise it's big disappointment to me. It adds some useless features and random earphones, yet reported price will be 300 Euro, 100 more than current A15.

The whole High Rez from A10 series to ZX2 are using the same sound processor and technology... I really doubt you'll find here a significant improvement in term of sound quality...

Major difference between all those models are IMHO on DSD (for the few using it), side functions (wifi, network, noise cancelling headset, etc etc...) and build quality for the ZX...

If you are using CD quality files (like me and most I guess), A10, A20 or more will not make a difference...

Better invest the money saved on a new headset where it really makes a difference...

For exemple Bina, I see you got a Noble 4... I had the opportunity to compare it with the Noble 10 and here, the difference is Huge (capital H)...

My next investment will definitively got to a new headset.. :)

One Czech tech website got info from Sony, that only difference in new A-20 that can maybe alter sound, is better soldering :)

@Notred No need to worry about my investment, I felt even A-15 was overpriced, so there is no chance I was going to buy A-25. It was just sigh over way that Sony makes new products.

Recently saw a youtube vid of this at the IFA, the exact same form, same volume rocker, buttons, D-pad and SD card cover

so A20 = A10 + NC + "Hi-res audio" EQ'ing

This is not really a new model, its just a worldwide release of the the Japanese versions of the A10 series, they already had noise cancelling (see here - https://kunardi.wordpress.com/2015/02/12/review-sony-walkman-nw-a16-digital-media-player/ )

So dont expect better sound quality, the ZX100 is the big release here, i dont mind though as my A15 is still awesome!

Fortunately i am receiving a new replacement A15 this week because the battery died on my original device. Now i am thinking about sellling it and getting the a25 instead, but: nobody knows about the quality of the included in ears yet, i guess (using soundmagic e10 now and should be an improvement over them)? And is noise cancelling that much a killer feature to justify the purchase?

Hey everybody!
I'm ordering the new A20 series and cannot decide on 2 things:
1) EU volume cap - is it that annoying? I'm planning on using the player with the supplied NC headphones or hifiman RE-400's. My previous Sony A818 didn't need the volume to be turned all the way up, but I have no idea how A20 is going to drive the headphones.
2) Internal memory size: it's much cheaper (and easier) to buy 16Gb version and put a 64gb microSD card inside. Question is - does the using of external card influence the speed and sound in any way?

Thanx in advance for replies!

P.S.: Maybe some recommendations on pre-ordering online? Accessory Jack, which is recommended here often, does not have them yet.

Hifiman seems power hungry, A20 won't be able i think, those need amp
Don't know for volume cap :p, i am from Mexico
maybe is cheaper to nuy a 16GB and buy a 128GB miccroSD, if a card ingluence sound i don't think so, and well for HD flac recommend you Class 10 UHS 1 or higher, JUST REMEMBER TO BUY FROM REPUTABLE SELLERS, you know fake cards can pop-up from phony sellers on market places
