That's my first "Hi Res" dap, I am amazed, sounds great with my custom Westone 3. I was not really convinced by the CD quality FLAC until now (hassle of compatibility, size, etc compared to 256kbps AAC) but the 24 bit 88/96 khz, wow. I'm sold. Now to find my fav albums.

Anyway, the US/Euro prices seem crazy, just bought one yesterday in Hong Kong. An A25 (16GB) for HK$1580, that's US$200.
Plus an extra 128GB microSD, but still cheaper than anywhere else.
edit: the A25, unlike the A27 doesn't come with the NC headset, but who is going to use it anyway?

Actually I was going to get the ZX100, yesterday was the release day of both models in HK but the A25 made a huge impression and I couldn't justify to myself to pay 3 times the price.

Hifiman seems power hungry, A20 won't be able i think, those need amp

Hifiman RE-400 and the new Sony mdr-ex750na - have both the impedance of 32 ohm (Sony with NC on. With power off = 17ohm).
Hifiman has sensitivity of 102dB/mW, they're rated 10mW, frequency 15Hz-22KHz.
Sony - 103 dB/mW, but their frequency range is much higher - 5Hz-40KHz (music for bats, anyone? :)
So my guess is - they both will be driven equally.

Any comments on the internal memory vs external microSD card thoughts?

I use SanDisk class 10 UHS I, 40MB/s card and works fine, i never noticed stuttering or sound dropping, even wit flac 192Khz

Regarding the headphones well maybe this will be able to drive them, but i struggle with my 40-ohm MDR-1R's

Nice to hear, thanx. Do you fell like it has more impact on the battery, compared to internal memory? That would be the other possible influence.

Actually use both memories system and the Sandisk microSD  so i don't note aby significant battery issues, Playing hi-res is what affects battery life. Saw yesterday at anazon the Same Sandisk i Have 128GB costs 98 US i bought it in january 2014 when it was at 200 US... thinking of getting the 200GB one in black friday sales

Actually, I have to alter the previous data... As Sony's delivering the A20 series not with new mdr-ex750na, but with new mdr-nw750n, which are simpler (1 NC mic, as I see, lower impendance (passive NC?) and it's not easy to find any specs: http://www.sony.com.my/product/mdr-nw750n (even here there are contradictions, like "reproduce up to 40kHz" with "Frequency response 5Hz-24,000Hz" - how?!).
