The DT880 benefits better with an amp if possible, tube. If you are really interested in it, you should get a tube amp for it. Of course it will sound better than MA900 with a tube amp...

Maybe wait a few weeks?

Kawan, it depends what source you have. If you have a strong enough amp that can drive 250Ohm with plenty of juice, then go for the 250 ohm version

32 Ohm may or may not have damping factor issue... If your source have output impedance of less than 4 ohm, the 32 Ohm may suit you well...

Well, do you want a bassy and energetic headphone (dt990) or do you want a clean and neutral one (dt880)? Either way, both are excellent headphones. Get the 250ohm version if you decide on buying one of them. ONLY buy the 600ohm version if you have a powerful OTL amp. Avoid the 32ohm versions.

I see, what about the he400? I like the sound signature of the senn hd650 very much and would like to duplicate that sound on a lower priced headphone..

I'll probably use the headphone with a fiio e17 on my MacBook Air.

If you wanna duplicate the HD650's sound for a lower price, the MA900 is the closest I've heard, with the main difference being the MA900 is more airy and not AS full bodied. They're both warm, smooth headphones, with rich mids/vocals, and non fatiguing sound.

The Beyers and the HE400 are NOTHING like the HD650.

Talking about "full bodied", how is MA900 compared to HD600, which is known to have 'lesser bodied' than the HD650?
I like HD650 but it literally crushed my jaw yesterday it gives me headache for hours.
 
I am a bit worried about the 2 plastic ends after the cushion will it press the skull constantly?  or it does not touch at all?

Never used an HD600, so I can't say. Thin is not a term you could ever describe the MA900's sound in any case. I just mean it's not as full as the HD650. The HD650 is thick sounding next to practically any headphone.

How are the MrSpeakers Mad Dog? Just heard from my friend that it is very open sounding despite being closed.

Feel like getting that because I can use it in the library. If not, have to use my future MA900 at home only

I certainly don't feel it. I however am not a fan of the headband itself. It is basically my only real gripe when it comes to comfort. I'm thinking of getting a roll of foam, and attaching it to the headband, which should aid the comfort to a legendary level. As is, the MA900 is still the most comfortable full sized headphone I've ever worn overall.

Just a consideration. Someone used it o the HD650 with good results. Ironically, if the MA900's headband were longer, I'd have bought the 650's stock foam headband padsding and applied it to the MA900. Oh well.

I haven't heard them, but from what I know they're pretty power hungry. So you'll need some extra amplification.

The current Mad Dogs are excellent. Easily the best fully closed headphones I've ever heard. But xkonfused stated, they require some good current to scale up to their potential. They can sound great off something like the E12 though.
