It has it's rough edges and can be a bit smoother. But damn it sounds nice on my cheapo Sansa Clip+/Brainwavz AP001 mini amp. LMAO
 
Why with some bass/treble EQed down a bit.
 
Same count be said with your Sonys no.

Honestly, a little bass boost and these are sounding quite nice now that I'm getting warmed up to them. Playing games has been a treat. Sounds like cans...dat stage...directional audio is spot on. With the drop down cable and filters out these are much better than initial thoughts I must admit. Jazz and classical are the best I've heard fosho.

Nice comparison. I liked the Altone more by quite a margin. The EX1000 is good, but the bass is too light for me and I love the HD800...
