I've ordered a set of these this morning. Hoping they are good! I already own the ier z1r. What dap/dac/amp have good synergy with the M9?
My M9's sound superb out of my BTR7 4.4mm balanced, better than out of my Sony A307 DAP with its 3.5mm SE.

I had the Z1R which have the greater wow factor, but just too large/uncomfortable for my ears so reluctantly sold, and still happy with my M9's.

My m9s arrived yesterday and I’ve been using them all day today while i worked. They are ideal for this. They sound just correct in every way and are comfortable enough to wear for hours. Sound wise they are also non fatiguing which is unusual as I find I need to change iems/headphones throughout the day usually. Very impressed

Yes, all day just like my SE846's but they are inferior now to my M9's for SQ.

I also have the great single DD FD7 which are also comfy all day and give a good contrast to the BA's in my M9's.

I have the fdx and they are very under rated iems. Fantastic for the money

Maybe because it takes many hours for them to settle and sound even better. Seems burn-in is real for the FD7/FDX.

It's getting to point where I'd be perfectly happy with just my M9's & FD7 with BTR7 and for super bud convenience my WF-1000XM5's which I'm also mighty impressed with, but closer to my FD7 than the M9 sound.

Saying that, if a mk2 Z1R was in an M9 size/style shell I'd pre-order!

Are the ier m9 shallow fitting?
No, but after many many tips, I've settled on the Azla SednaEarfit Short. I find that it alleviate some of the congestion that I find on some tacks.

Initial impression of the ier-m9 is very positive. I prefer a darker sound signature, so the talk of veiled or boring is a bit of a mystery to me. They sound spot on to me !

I do prefer the s&s xxl dunu tips to those supplied. I do have a set of INAIRS AIR1 (S/M/L) on order, so I will compare when they arrive.

I love the m9. I can wear them all day and they sound great. I can’t do that with the ier z1r. I’m really liking them with the Sony zx707
