Hey, I am new to this thread. Has anyone compared the Dunu SA6 and IER-M7? Want to know if the M7 is still relevant.

The M7 just isn't nearly as popular as the M9.
:triportsad: I love bass, hence was considering whether to go for M7...If only someone could compare it with the new DUnu SA6.

Excellent iems. A bit warm but I like that personally. Was the best iem in the $500 and below bracket but now has competition from the blessing 2 and b2 dusk.

Well. I recently obtained M9's and after a day of extensive listening, I actually prefer warmer sound signature of M7's over more balanced M9's for 80 % of tested music.

Good to know.

I am scheming on getting a pair of M9s (or Z1Rs) for the increased resolution and soundstage. But I am treble sensitive and will likely EQ the treble down anyway. I wonder if it is worth it...

How is the bass, separation, soundstage, and imaging of M9 compared to M7?

Bass almost same level of quality, they are using exact same driver actually. Separation, soundstage, imaging is a half or a level better on m9 definitely. But m9 also a bit brighter than m7. Treble extension is better on m9. M7 more focused on mids. Both are considered as warm IEMs but very detailed.

Z1R on other side is more fun and dynamic but also more v shaped tuning. Best bass on iem ive ever heard. Treble extension and resolution are top notch. Imaging i think M9 have better speciality here but very subtle to Z1R. But Z1R have wider soundstage.

How does the IER-M7 compare to the MDR-EX1000? Would it be considered an upgrade?
They are very different sounding IEMs, if I understand it correctly. The 1000 has world class resolution and soundstaging, but has sizzly treble. I have the EX800 and did a mod that was supposed to make it sound like the 1000. I reversed the mod and went running back to my M7.

The 1000 is likely objectively superior, but if you are treble sensitive, you will subjectively like the M7 better.

For me M7 on overall is an upgrade to EX1000 albeit they are different type. M7 is more towards precise monitor while Ex1000 is more fun sounding IEM.

Deepest bass from EX1000 with its air moving feeling is hard to beat, its only clearly beaten by Z1R. The giant 16mm LCP driver is a legend.
Fit wise m7 far more superior and comfortable.
Resolution and details overall M7 slightly above EX1000 but only on trebles, EX1000 have better extension yet harsher / prone to sibilance.
Soundstage on EX1000 is bit wider but M7 have more depth and layering
Imaging which is speciality of M7 and M9 is definite winner than EX1000.
Before i have Z1R i still taking my EX1000 for bass depth and dynamics air feeling. But M7 occupied my ears more than EX1000.
