Sony D-NE20 my personal REVIEW

Is the line-out the same port as the optical-out?

If so, that precludes using the remote when sending a signal to a DAC. My older Sony PCDP has both ports separate, so I can use both simultaneously. Another "X" for Sony "progress"

Personally, I really loved the DNE920. I listen mainly to 80's hard rock/metal and I believe that the DNE920 shines on such music.

The only negative I canthink of is the fact that the DNE920 is extremely fragile. My unit could not even withstand one accidental drop & body weight crush. Now, I have to get a replacement

Yes, it is the same jack. This is the reason I bought the D-EJ2000. If you want a pcdp with MP3 capability and a separate optical jack, the D-NE1 or D-NE9 are your players to get although they only playback redbook CDs through the optical!

I had emailed customer support for Bluetin.com - just heard back from them. They stock the Japanese version of the D-NE20.

Anyone know how the Japanese version differs from other versions?
