I agree, in principle, but it should clearly be green-turquoise for right and orange for left This is what I had to shell out the $$ for an authentic pair of green-turquoise ones. I can't be content with just orange and pink pairs.
Are the colored tips on the MH755 "Sony hybrids"? What, exactly, Is a Sony hybrid tip anyway? I have two sets of Sony tips that came with IEMs - they seem like regular silicone with a colored silicone ring where they connect to the nozzle (color ring is based on size). Are these Sony hybrids? If so, what is "hybrid" about them?

I was just being cheeky, since it doesn't matter what color tips one puts on their own IEMs. Plus, the MH755 can be worn either way around since the two housings are identical. But, since you took my bait, I will post an image from Headphonesty that proves you wrong

@SoundChoice , yes, this is what I imagined. I did get a few pairs, maybe I will practice on one of them and see if I am capable of the work, but I have ruined other electronics in the past trying to replace dead capacitors, so I am wary.
Update: this novice solderer just finished the MMCX mod. First the bad: the amount of time and skill to solder the wires to the correct part of the connectors without making a silver globby mess and then getting them both to stay is huge. Now the good: when I hooked up my ISN C16 balanced to the MH755, it really opened up the bass.
@SoundChoice , distortion mayhem? Are you sure you got the polarity right on the replacement cables? Maybe it's some other problem not related to your sloppy soldering job.
I thought of getting a soldering practice board - they are cheap, and trying solder joints until I can do a good one consistently before I try recabling one of my MH755s. It'd be a handy skill to have anyway.

Sony used to make noise isolation ear tips, which were hybrid ear tips with foam inside. I think the silicon thickness between the nozzle part and flange part are very different, making them a little more flexible, coining the “hybrid” term. The main difference with these hybrid sets and stock MH755 ones are the size availability. The white/black hybrids listed by me also have SM and ML sizes, which are in-between S-M-L sizes.
Hello, everyone. I have just done recabling mh755(my first attempt of recabling headphone really).
I have tested left and right channel from YouTube videos. However during the test, there's this really slight sound playing on the opposite channel when the sound should only be coming from the other one.
I'm not sure on the terminology. I think it's sound leak/crosstalk.
Sorry for my English and bad description. For example, when it's playing on the right, I can hear from the left as well. It's not loud as the right. It's really distant I would say(when it was supposed to be completely dead/mute).
Did I mess up?
Definitely messed up one of the casings for holding the soldering iron too close to it.
ADDED: oh wait nope. I have just tested 2 different sets of earpieces with same test. Same result. Didn't realise this before. Strange. Always thought when testing left/right channel, one would be completely dead/mute when playing on the other channel.
Guess I didn't mess up
Didn't realise this before.

That 'stereo crosstalk' you described is usually caused by the source in my experience (a laptop, smart phone, etc). It doesn't really hurt anything, and in reality it can actually create the illusion of a wider soundstage.
Rockbox actually has a specific feature to control the amount of this stereo channel mixing 'crosstalk' effect (called Stereo Width). It's actually enabled at 125% by default (at least was default in the xduoo X3 port of Rockbox)!
I think you have one bar mic. I remember you have a few sets of mh755 and I pointed out one of yours(I called it rose gold). Eventually got one myself with mic. Bought this off my local online platform but I bet you can get it from AE as well. https://shopee.com.my/product/27017914/2601072945?smtt=0.0.9

Thanks. That is similar to one that I do have on one of my 755s. We had bought ours in a 10 pack. Happy to have a link for just one because I think our others are gone.
Yes it is but we had a 10 pack (he makes a lot of earbuds). Maybe you can find a pack of one or two. I have noticed we have a lot more choice buying in bulk. The purple one was from a pack of five. The others were available individually. Always looking for more....
Here is a closer picture of the other one that we did with that cable. Put the Sony tag on that one. I kind of wish we had done it with the others.
This is the cable I used on mine, I like the mic just because I like to change tracks or pause without taking my phone out. I only found a white version of the same cable on ebay once, but the mic is plastic. The black one from this store is the same as ones used on TRN cables.
