Had these for a couple of years now. Cannot use these thru an amp. Its truely wireless. Well.. Except for charging. Can use this while charging. All sound sources must be plugged on the box.

Lately tho, having signal interferences while watching movies. Signal cuts out. I am around 5-6 feet from box. Battery is strong... Experiencing it at 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Not sure its wifi interferences... Lots of wifi here.

Hey, thanks for your reply, I totally forgot to check back again. So I bought it last year in June, the day I inquired about it here, lol. Anyways I haven't got any interference so far and I got couple of WiFi signals around me too. If you want you can try resetting it!

Hi, the thing is I'm at my parents place so can't access the device for sometime.
However, I found the pdf manual and also I was able to find the reset options too, just open the pdf and search "reset"
Also try to relocate your processor from its usual place and see if that helps. Hope it's not your microwave that's messing with the processors signal.

Are these still the only game in town? Is there a newer model or a competitive product? Really need something like this in my life, tired of doing the volume dance at night when the family is asleep. It would be cool actually hear explosions and gun shots at full surround volume one of these days. Been using headphones for years but want more than stereo.

Dude, they're as old as horseshoe crab. That being said i have it and the last time i used was in 2020. It's decent but for the introductory peice of 700$ it's crap. There are headphones with spatial audio way cheap and maybe give it a try. To me when it comes to movies i want to feel and hear the explosion if there's one in the movie.
Maybe try crusher evo. The bass is really deep.

Unfortunately nothing new that comes close even. I have these for more than 8 years now and I use it every day still. The surround sound positioning is so well done on these, it’s hard to use anything else to watch movies and tv after experiencing them.

JVC made a similar one - JVC XP-ext1. Most reviews suggest that it’s not worth it for the asking price. The HW700DS cost less than half this price when it was still in production. I would buy another pair of the Sony’s if it was still available, sadly no more. A true home theatre masterpiece !
