Mmmm... a closed-back Abyss 1266 sounds mighty intriguing!

I'm hoping that it'll be so.

I'm also hoping that it'll be closer to $3,000 than $6,000.

A 1266 TC in a more normal headphone like form factor would be very appealing. Probably will not be adjustable like the current TC but if they can just dial in a default tuning using those drivers that would great, just anything that looks more normal

Am I the only one hoping for 10-20k Abyss headphone? A successor to 1266 TC that can surpass Shangri-la Sr?
The second part of the Statement doesn't require the first.

A successor of the 1266TC for 6k would be fine as well. It could still beat the Shangri La Sr.

However I can relate to that sentimental. Personally I hope for an Electrostat System like Sennheiser He1 developed by T+A.
They beat the Susvara (imo) on their first try. Next target should be He1. This is off topic tho.), so back to Abyss

More likely that they do a closed back Diana first - I know they were also working on an IEM at some point, but apparently that was a long time off. Considering Abyss' tuning capabilities this is an almost certain purchase from me, currently on the 1266TC with the MHA150 and the setup is godmode

have you tried to upgrade your electronics first? Like a Nagra HD DAC X or dCS Vivaldi?
With sources like this, it starts feeling disproportional, would prefer having more percentage spent on the transducers.

It is smaller than 1266:thinking:
Smaller announcement than 1266 was, or smaller product (physically)?
