I recently bought Beyerdynamic DT 990 premium 32Ohm headphones. So far, I love them. I was wondering how I could make my listening experience better. I do a lot of gaming and listening to music on my pc (high quality mp3 and lossless audio sources).

I am looking for an amp and DAC. How much of an improvement can I see over my use compared to the current setup I have, which uses a Creative SoundBlaster Z sound card; what would pair best with my headphones?

The Sound Blaster ZxR and Asus Essence STX sound cards come with a better DAC and headphone amplifier.
ZxR, $160.

Essence STX, used $130

Audio-GD NFB-15.32 external DAC/Amp, $255+shipping.
Dual WM8741 DAC chips and a low output impedance headphone amplifier, so a little better then the sound cards.
