Wow, I can definitely see the potential! You must have a lot of cans to need a stand of that magnitude. Can't wait to see the finished product

I wanted a nice / exotic looking wood finish. But how to achieve that with Home Depot catch as cacth can pine bits? I figured I'd try a faux finish and see how it turned out....

Painted with rattle cans....

Then with some bold grain added with artists oils....

Then a series of glazes....

It still looks rough but it's getting there...

Then I hit it with two or three shades of tinted poly until I hit a color I liked.....

And it ends up like so....

Back to the metalwork....painted a metallic gray and holes tapped in the back to add cable hangers....

Covering the hanging posts with leather....

And all put together...

I like the way the wood turned out if I must say so myself....

Total cost? About $170 in materials and a weekends effort.

Only thing I can think of is making the metal with a glossy finish so that it matches the wood which BTW is, well in lack of better words beautyfull

Am I the only one who would've loved to see the copper be polished instead of painted? Actually, I think it would've looked the best as you had it in one of the pictures, most of it painted but with the ends polished (and without the wood).

I like wood, but feel it's a bit played out in headphone stands. Nice work all the same, and I'm sure it looks even better in person. Matches the Grados well, that's for sure.
