I also in Sweden, alos with a D1SE and wounder the same....I wonder how this compares to the VMV D1se?
There's a new review up on Soundnews.net:I also in Sweden, alos with a D1SE and wounder the same....
I got my unit a few weeks ago and I am very happy with it. I like both the sound and the build quality and clean look.
Ordered an SMSL PU-10 from Amazon with a 15% discount. Unfortunately long delivery time to Sweden. I already have an SMSL DO200 that I have been happy with. It will be interesting to compare the sound.
I found some unpleasant bugs with SU-10 when playing MQA over usb from android devices. Last firmware 1.02.
1. When using the native Tidal application of the latest current version 2.72.0, sound distortion is clearly audible on some mqa files with a frequency of 44.1 kHz. I tried to play from three different sources (phone, tablet, ibasso dx 300). An example of a file where distortions on drums are heard from the very beginning: https://tidal.com/browse/track/49154609
2. When using the UAPP player on andriod device, or native Tidal app on Win 10 in direct mode, when playing any MQA file with a frequency of 88.2 (96, 192)kHz 24-bit, there is a constant noise that is audible even if you pause the playback (on hi volume). The noise disappears when the SU-10 is rebooted or when mqa-file with a frequency of 44.1 kHz is being played.

Someone in comments under a review said it does run hot. Not sure what to think. One thing to consider. According to their spec sheets, the D1SE only uses 5W of power, and it ran pretty warm (I once owned one). The SU-10 uses 30W of power and it's chassis isn't that much bigger than the D1SE, so I would't be surprised if it ran quite hot to the touch!![]()

Can someone explain the differences between this SU10 and the older dac in the Burson Conductor 3XP? It may be an odd request, but I'm curious how this dac has evolved, compared to the 3XP from 2 years ago. what are the differences?

So there is basically no response from this thread. I have noticed there are some reviewers who will not question the price of components, and if there is a difference between the cheaper versions that is even worth the cost. I have been wondering if this dac is worth it. I'm not a fan of Z reviews really, he seems to love everything so I usually ignore his reviews. Every now and then he complains, and the SMSL SU-10 is one of those times. He is saying he can't tell a difference. Is there anyone here that can hear a difference from any lesser smsl or similar dac? I didn't A/B mine, but I couldn't tell a difference between it and an ASUS Xonar STX soundcard (with upgraded op amps). I COULD tell a major improvement as soon as I hooked up my new headphones.
If you watch this, sorry about his mouth and anime.

Anyone having stuttering issues using the toslink input? I have emailed SMSL but so far only radio silence. If this is a bug that can't be fixed I will sell this dac and upgrade to something better.
