I used it for my 1st gen Nano. It works well but it's a little tricky to get on. You have to wet it then squeeze the liquid and air bubbles out. If you get it on perfectly, it's barely noticeable. It won't protect against drop impacts but it is impossible to scratch. It might feel weird if used on the touch screen since it has a slight rubbery feel to it. I don't think the glass screen needs protection anyway. The backside is perfect for it.

hey guys..
I have the 1st n 2nd gen nano..the 2nd gen is my main player... looking to upgrade to a 4th gen nano.. I'm using a pair of shure SE420...

i wanted to get a 2nd gen touch, but that would probably be a gift for my gf..

is the 2nd gen touch only marginally better than the 4g nano or is it really that good??

Ihatepopupads - very nice case, what color did you get?

Red was all BB had, but it's pretty cool. It's just a little thicker than I expect silicone to be. I am thinking about the invisible shield for the back and that sweet leather case pikey- sorry psikey has, thats a class set-up

Problem is I just spent 25.00 bucks on this case and lost the receipt already. So that would be another 30 for the leather slip case and 25 for the invisible shield.

To my ears (subjective) the new touch seems to have a more powerful amp and the tiny-est bit less hiss than the nano 4g. Also the touch seems a little brighter and more open, But! they are very very close. 4g nano is better than a 2g nano imho, less veiled, more dynamic, and better bass- more defined.

as long as i know that i won't be missing out a lot by letting my gf have the touch.. i'm cool...

now it's the hard part.. i need to decide the color

So I canceled my iTouch 8GB to order a 16 (actually refused delivery from Amazon). Then, they cut the price $10, but not much I could do (they no longer price match). Today (the 16GB Touch wasn't supposed to ship until 10/3-6), I got a $25 gift coupon from Amazon in the mail, so I quickly canceled order #2 and reordered again, this time, getting $35 off the price (discount plus gift coupon), so I ended up getting the 16 GB Touch for $265. Not bad, but now I have to wait until 10/10-14. Have enough DAPs to hold me over. Looking forward to my 1st iPod.

i just cannot believe how little noise comes from the headphone jack. definately the least i have heard from any dap. i am not using my most sensitive phones now but they are sensitive enough to hear the noise from a 3g nano and cowon d2: so good enough. amazing.

Sorry sorta off topic, but does anybody have any experience with best skins ever? It's supposed to be the sale as invisible shield, but only 7.99 for the touch 2g. Compared with 24.99 for the IS. skin.

just get the shure iphone adapter and use that with it. it will allow you to skip forward, back play and pause. of course you wont be able to accept calls but I dunno, maybe you could utilize the excellent mic for something

Took your advice & the Shure Adapter arrived today.

I can confirm it works great with the 2nd gen Touch. Even with the Touch in sleep mode, if I press the button on the adapter it starts the music from sleep without having to do anything else with the Touch(screen stays off). As you said, single press play/pause and double press skip to Next track. Are you sure it also does Back a track???

Not tried the mic with any App Store voice recording programs.

My Brando screen protector also arrived but not had chance to fit that today.

A few pics for anyone interested:
