Rob N - looks like €4,200 on their site. Beautiful construction and craftsmanship; am not familiar with the components nor the 812A tube so cannot comment on the engima that is "value for money" but it is certainly scoring high on the audiophile lust barometer

The Silvercore 812A is a real eye candy ! I am pretty sure it sounds great to but I will not have a chance.... being 9,000 km away.

Just want to ask if you will be interested to design a "headphone centric" version of the 812A - with the following features :

1. assortment of headphone jacks : 1/4", 3 pin XLR (balanced), 4 pin XLR (would be great for K1000).

2. headphone jacks in the front instead of the rear

3. headphone jacks for low and high sensitivity headphones

Yeah, after looking some more, I'm really floored by these amps. They seem to be built on about the same scale as the Woo 5, only a bit crazier and more european, I love the silver look...

Edit: Oh God, it's jammed with goodies. I've never seen such a nice internal design. And the casework is one of a kind.

Can anyone tell me more about the tubes in the preamp unit? I see the 5U4 rectifier in the power supply, but those two tubes, the 812a's, which ones are power tubes, which ones are driver tubes, are they combo tubes or what (like the Woo6 has). Bonus points for the crazy wires going up to the top of the tubes.

They have a lot of hardwiring...they have some pretty complex stuff in there, to where it'd be hard to point to point some of it...

The wiring just is done in a very sophisticated manner, such a clean layout, and some pretty huge oil capacitors....

Seeing as you're very impressed by the amps scootermafia, could you be a little more specific about which aspects of the circuit you're impressed with? And perhaps a little more detail about the "pretty complex stuff" you're referring to? It would help give some perspective for others who haven't been able to glean this kind of knowledge from the pictures.

While your at it you might as well delete any post from Scootermafia that deals with wire/cables. Looks like he owns Double Helix Cables .

It's OK as long as scootermafia doesn't discuss his own cables or products, or lead a thread into a direction that would give him an unfair advantage over other wire manufacturers that abide by the rules.

Gotcha. No problemo. Just seems like some people can get away with being a undercover MOT and others can't. I guess I underestimate their sneakyness.
