ah maybe that's why it wears out. i figure if you can use a notebook for at least 3 years, you'll get all the value in the world out of it.
i've had my dell for about 2 years now, and it's broken down on me once (the hard drive fried, dell's warranty covered it.. they paid for packacing/shipping both ways!)... so why not get a 2 or 3 year warranty?
i dont know much about notebook prices, but are you sure it runs $100-$200 less than macbooks? i thought apples, based on price/performance, were much more overpriced..
