Nice! I first saw it on the cover of a Road and Track in 1975, always liked it.

There was one for sale up here last fall, but in horrible shape. I have to like it, but not own it- to be happy, I think. The last thing I need is another project.

Thanks for the compliment! I see you have a nice, new Mapletree.....fancy a swap?
Seriously though, the car is on eBay (ending tonight), I've had her for two years and I really need the cash now to fund other things.
Never had a problem with her, she still runs like a charm, and growls like a beast!

My 16yr old VW Scirocco, still going strong despite having 3 previous owners and not a bit of rust to be found anywhere on the body and never been resprayed, the last of the bombproof VW's built by Karmman.

Not the fastest of cars compared to todays modern hot hatches but i think it has a sense of style about it, fitted with twin webber carbs to give a nice growl and turn of speed when needed at the expense of fuel consumption <20mpg.

I also tend to agree with the 'euro' taillights. On some of the colors, it just doesn't look right. Mine has a pair of Crystal Eyes with black reflectors and clear lens and looks way better with the black truck.

I actually meant the 2G Lightnings. The first gen Lightnings used the boxier body style reminicent of my dad's '90 F-150 (One generation before) which I don't particularly care for. My dad almost bought one of these back in the day, but decided against it as his F-150 was only a few years old and would only be used as a "work" truck anyway.

Nice pic of the Lightning though, the tailights look a lot better than they do stock. I've seen the stock ones on several white and silver Lightnings and...yeuch

Countach - A 9000rpm redline!, bet it sounds nice wound right up through a twisty valley, Mine runs out of steam at 5500rpm, by that point the webbers have gave up any thought of sucking more fuel and decided to try and suck in any birds within a 30ft radius.

Yeah me and organicabstract were just there on tues. I got a box also. BSP with a Yakima roof rack, no emblems or hubcaps. I had a bB emblem, but lost it in an accident. It's going though, it's costing me way too much, plus athatrecent accident is gonna shoot my insurance through the roof. Been trying to find me an FC3S and I think I found one

love the xB though. Spacious, easy to park, built with safety in mind, windows already tinted/smoked, great feature set for a base economy car. The upright seating arrangement and turning radius is great too. If you want some leather heated seats, lemme know. I need to dump mine before the car goes.

Was bought this car right before I started college about three years ago and am learning that it is nearly irreplaceable being that the insurance is 26 dollars a month. Even with poor gas mileage, at my current rate of consumption, just over a tank a week, the price would have to leap to over eight dollars to justify leasing another car (take your pick at the 25 to 30k limits for maximum efficiency and reliability for the money) at about 550 a month for payments plus insurance. And no one in their in right mind is going to give me ten thousand for this car so that I may make a decent down, so this car is going to be my driver or secondary forever despite the small 260 cubic inch V8 (can't get much out of an engine that size without computers) and lack of modern safety features along with having to restore a lot of the guts that have recently worn out.

These two are a bit fuzzy cause it was getting dark and the shutter speed on the camera reduced to compensate.

I still think it looks better than most "good looking" new cars on the road, especially for having bluebooks of about 800 bucks.

On a side note, I learned how to drive in a '70 Chevelle convertible, so this car felt right at home for me; more so than the '99 Cadillac El Dorado (POS, trust me) that I sold.

yeah baby, yeah

I had a 97 Maxima GXE. Not modified like yours, but still one of my favorite cars. I literally felt sad when I had to let it go, but it was necessary since I passed the 100K mile mark and it started acting up on me.
