@Redcarmoose I always love your iem picks! If you don't mind sharing, what cable do you have paired up with your Encore's? Could it be a Hansound Zentoo? If so, I have been interested in trying that one with my K10U for a good while now.

The original Han Sound Zen is what’s in the picture with the K-10 Encore. I’ve actually now switched that cable to use with either the Fearless S6Rui or qdc Anole V3. It has a Furutech 4.4mm plug and ends being a 4 wire OCC litz affair. The new Hansound I use (with the K-10 Encore) is the Han Sound ZENTOO which is close to the same cable and same budget price. Interestingly both cables have gotten slightly stiff. Just a small warning for you? But I use my Encore the most so it’s safe to say those two cables regularly got used about 28 hours a week for almost years? The ZENTOO actually comes with a Han Sound bespoke plug and works great, but the new clear covering was supposed to overcome the stiffness obtained after time in the use of the original ZEN? So both cables work great but have slight stiffness in age, especially where the wire goes over ear. They are about USD $158 a piece. I like them more than the different included cables that come with IEMs now? But, some of those cables are soft as silk and cost $16 on Ali-Express? Lol
Still I trust the Han Sound more?
The ZEN has been discontinued but the ZENTOO is available.
Also the plug barrel can come dangerously close to your plug-in ports. Cutting away the plug barrel, while maybe not offering side to side support in case of damage, still will (in-turn) offer less chance of causing plug-in point scratch marks. I don’t get them but the bespoke plug is paper thin close? But if your not using 4.4mm, I’m not sure how the Han Sound black ZENTOO custom plug will fit as far as closeness goes? The closeness could even be something to do with the Walkmans ?
See the space here, it’s maybe a good thing? At least there are no worries of scratching.

Thanks for all the great info man! I love the look of the bespoke hardware on the Zentoo, but the getting stiffer is kind of a bummer. I still might buy one eventually, as I have always wanted to try a Han Sound cable, and figure the Zentoo is a good place to start. The original Han Sound Zen is what’s in the picture with the K-10 Encore. Well at least you know what to expect.
But if you really study the construction of those $16 cables the wire seems to be actually only wrapped with copper foil, where the ZENTOO is real copper wires..... so....that’s good. It’s like foil wrapped “string” or something if you look close? Lol
So they can be droopy?
